Introduction

The genus Mireius of Straneo (1984) is congeneric with Ecnomolaus. The two species in the genus can be separated as follows:

Basal foveae of pronotum broad shallow depressions; elytral humeri clearly serrate; labial palps globose; size- 4-5mm, from Cameroon E. dentitibiis (Straneo 1984)
Basal foveae of pronotum narrow linear depressions; elytral humeri only slightly serrulate; labial palps triangular; size- 5-6mm, from BurmaE. clivinoides Bates 1892
